After School Programs

Teachers are given a list of students who are signed up for afternoon enrichment activities. On the day that a child attends a class, they report to the After School Activities Program (ASAP) instead of carpool and receive a snack there. All children are escorted to and from their afternoon enrichment classes by an ASAP staff member or the afternoon enrichment coordinator. Children remain with an adult staff member until they are picked up at carpool. Special arrangements can be made to coordinate individual escorts for children coming to an afternoon enrichment from a music lesson or tutorial. There is no fee for this service.

Kindergarten students participating in an Afternoon Enrichment class that begins at 3:30 p.m. are permitted to stay in the After School Activities Program (ASAP) from dismissal at 2:00 p.m. until class begins. At 3:30 p.m., all Afternoon Enrichment participants will be escorted to the appropriate class.

This is primarily due to the availability of facilities. The tennis, swimming, and gymnastics enrichment classes must work around Lovett’s varsity and junior varsity practice and game schedules.

When do swim lessons start? 
Swim lessons will begin in early spring.

How many days should my child participate?
As few or as many as they would like! Lessons are offered Monday through Thursday, at 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. You can register for as many day and time combinations as you would like. You may choose one day per week for gradual advancement or two, three, or four days per week to master skills and increase cardiovascular endurance.

My child is 3 ½. Can they participate?
No. A child must be four years old or older to participate in swim lessons at Lovett.

How does carpool pick-up work?
For students in Grades K-5, a staff member of ASAP will escort the group to the Lower School for pick up after the 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. classes. Please note that it will take about 15 minutes for the children to change clothes and walk to the Lower School, so please plan to pick up around 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. Many parents prefer to observe the classes and pick up their child at the natatorium. To avoid Upper School carpool, please park in the parking deck on the back side of campus.
